Do you eat grain free food and are you worried about the recent FDA warnings?
Pocket: We both eat Blue Buffalo Basics Grain Free. We started eating this around the time the first reports of the FDA linking heart problems and grain-free food. My parents weighed the risks of us developing heart issues with the benefits of no infections and fewer stomach problems, and that all of the reported cases had involved larger dogs, and decided no to switch to grains at least for now.

We have all been eating a grain free dog food, .made by Zignature, the #2 brand on the FDA list. We don't know if the variety we eat is the one with the issues. It is all very confusing for Mom. We all do very well on this food, none of us (or our Angels) had any heart issues. So at least for now we are going to stay with what is working.

We get different food from Chewy all the time so we won't get bored and now it all has rice or some grain.
ReplyDeleteI am on rx foodables, I don't thinks they are grain free, that is somethings I let Ma worry abouts ~ I just worry if my food bowl is filled on time!

we eat cooked meals, but we eat bread and such stuff sometimes too...
ReplyDeleteWe don't know how that applies to cats, the humans are sure not helpful when it comes of dog and cat food.
ReplyDeleteThe doggies in this house have been eating Iams yum yum crunchy meatball doggie food for years with no harmful effects. I like to trick ghostwriter into thinking that Dad forgot to feed me my dinner in the evening when she gets home from work by showing her my empty food bowl. Whether this works or not depends on how tired she is.
ReplyDeleteWe have grain-free kibble as a base and with either raw or cooked meat or tinned grain-free as a topper. Daisy seemed to have a reaction to grain food, and no problems when switched to grain-free. So we eat grain-free; however, our morning dog biscuits are wheat based. We mostly eat anything.
ReplyDeleteWe used to eat grain free till we found out the Hazel's heart was enlarged. it could have been her age or the food. They checked me and I showed some slight enlargement so Mom changed our food
