Have your parents ever made a mistake with a pet that they regret?
A few ago, Pocket had some butt problems that they thought were an impacted anal gland. It got drained, but Pocket kept licking it, so they put pants on it so she couldn't. They checked it a couple of days later, and it was worse. It was an allergy, terrible itching, and po. Poor couldn't get it. She got medication, and it cleared up, but my parents still feel guilty
Sometimes it is hard to diagnose things and yes, we often WISH our fur babies could really talk and inform us about how they feel!

I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I'm sure there were things I could have done better.

I once came home from work to find that my first dog, Hamish the Westie, had managed to get his head stuck in between the bars of a child gate I'd installed to stop him getting into my front room. I had to use a saw (on the gate not his head!) to set him free....
ReplyDeleteNeedless to stay, I never tried using that design of barrier again!
Cheers, Gail.

ReplyDeleteWe spent lots of time in the workshop and there was that time that Mitch ate walnut sawdust. Mom stayed up with him all night long hoping he would be okay.

Yes, when Maxwell and Macy were wee kittens we kept them separate from the others for way too long. They needed to be out n' about sooner.
