Poetry Thursday

Happy Poetry Thursday!

My very good friends Angel Sam and Teddy sent us this picture to inspire verse. Below the picture is my offering

It was that very morning when Sam did say to Sue

“My dear you look very blue

I have discussed with the children and we say

You have to go out alone for the day

See friends, watch a show

Whatever you want you should go.”

Sue said it was a bad idea

Her family could not survive with her that was clear

But Sam promised they could take care of themselves

That he would cook and put everything back on the shelves

Sue agreed to go on a night on the town

It might cure her permanent crown

She met some old friends at a bar

They laughed, sang, and danced happily

And Sue had to admit she felt fantastically

Until she got home and saw the kitchen

Sam must have thought she’d come in bitching

But she began cleaning and not a word she could say

When you’re a mom you can’t get away

  3. Now that sounds like something our Mom would do, although she says she is very worn out from washing dishes over Christmas when the whole gang was here for a week!!!
