When Gail was a little girl and wanted a dog, her father told her that her mother didn't like dogs. When, age 40, Gail finally acquired a dog (Hamish the Westie) and introduced him to her family, it was quite clear that it was her Dad who had the most reservations about dogs. I (Cecilia) was raised with dogs as were my parents. I however, learned to love cats early. My mom was quite afraid of our first Cat, Milky-Way.
ReplyDeleteHe was a gentle soul never bothered anyone and was a lover not a fighter. Bless his itty bitty kitty heart he could sense Mama was not a fan. He did not understand so of course he made it his mission to win her over. Always at her feet or sitting behind her head. Hilarious.
I finally told her to start 'acting' like she adored him. That would soothe his damaged ego. And she did learn to love cats.
