What do you use for flea and tick medication?
We were using Advantix II but the doctor suggested Bravecto so we switched to that. Then my pawrents realized Bravecto doesn't work on fleas so we might go back to Advantix for our next treatment.

We haven't had fleas for several years. Once we had an infestation and since then we have daily flea check.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have many fleas or ticks around here. There are usually a few weeks in the spring when we check the dogs for ticks, and that's it! Sorry not to be more help...
ReplyDeleteWe used to use Vectra but Mom was tired of the oily mark on our backs. So we use Bravecto - nice that it is only every three months instead of monthly. Our box says it is for FLEAS and ticks. But maybe in the size for the smaller weights, it can't cover fleas??? Just guessing.

Us kitties use something different but it's Bayer Advantage II for us.
ReplyDeleteWe can't help you. We live in a dry area, so we don't get fleas. However, in 2010, when it flooded, we did have fleas. We used a daily tablet Comfortis, for the summer.
ReplyDeleteI use a topical for heartworm and fleas. I tried the chewables, butts it just made me throw up. The vettie tech told Ma a good tip on the topicals ~ put it on RIGHT BEFORE you leave for your walkie, so you can't rub it off on the furniture....not that YOU would do such a thing....

We don't get fleas here, but As far as we know Bravecto is for fleas and ticks and it works for 12 weeks. It also works to kill demodetic mites

We only use it when we go to someplace that has a flea & tic situation. It is so dry here that it isn't an issue.
