I am told not to get on the kitchen chairs and eat my parents meal as soon as they stand up

My Jack, a red hunting dog when I was a girl, used to sleep on the living room chair but when he expected me to be hoe from school, he was off and standing. I looked in the front window to see him sound asleep... but then, the magic moment came, and voila! Jack was standing.
